Our Work Update

  1. Mia

Thank you for your ongoing support to Solving Kids’ Cancer. We’ve got some exciting events planned over the next few months but before I introduce these, here’s a quick update about some of our work.

The family of Mia Chambers – a little girl diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma when she was 4 years old – started fundraising with us in February 2017. They needed to raise the funds necessary for Mia to access a clinical trial in America that could help her fight the disease – the trial is not available in the UK. In the knowledge of high relapse rates for Mia’s cancer and a less than 10% chance of survival upon relapse, accessing this trial was really important to her parents because it’s aimed at helping prevent Mia’s cancer returning. Thankfully, the campaign received incredible community support, quickly raising the funds needed; and Mia was able to start the trial in late August.

Mia’s dad said, “We couldn’t have done it on our own, because we didn’t know where to start. SKC opened up a whole new world to us; something so far away became within our reach.”

Thank you so much for helping make this possible!

  1. SKC Parent Conference

Families affected by neuroblastoma are invited to our annual education conference; to learn about research and clinical trials from world-leading experts and meet other families. Find out more here.
