About the event
Our 7th annual Neuroblastoma Parent Education Conference will take place on 2nd – 4th November 2018 at DeVere Latimer Estate conference centre in Buckinghamshire. If you’re a parent or guardian of a child affected by neuroblastoma, we’d love to meet you! The event is a unique chance to learn about some of the most innovative and up-to-date research into the disease, talk to the medical experts and connect with other families with a shared experience. All in a friendly and relaxed environment, with caring and professional childcare provided.
At the conference we aim to:
- Share information on some of the most innovative and up-to-date neuroblastoma research and treatments with families, and offer the opportunity for you to hear from and speak to world-leading medical experts directly.
- Give families the chance to meet, connect and spend time with other families who share similar experiences and the Solving Kids’ Cancer team.
- Provide healthcare professionals with the time to network, share ideas and develop collaborations; as well as interact directly with the families impacted by their work.
On the Friday evening we’ll gather for a friendly and informal welcome reception; Saturday will be packed with a full day of presentations, plus a ‘gala’ dinner for families and speakers; and we will finish with a half-day of presentations on Sunday.
The programme is being finalised, but will cover topics such as what it means to be an informed parent; current unmet needs in neuroblastoma; future immunotherapy treatments; clinical trial options for relapsed and refractory disease, and coping as a family during and after treatment.
We hope you will leave feeling equipped and empowered with knowledge and information, and supported by insights from others who understand, listen and do all they can to help you throughout your journey.
Registration will open later in the summer and we will share further information about the speakers, full event agenda, costs and subsidies in the coming weeks.
