On Sunday 13th May Team Felix, in loving memory of Felix White, will be running the Superheroes Run in Brighton to raise awareness of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma and fundraise for Solving Kids’ Cancer.

This will be Team Felix’s 9th annual Superheroes Run, in honour of a true and mighty superhero, Felix White. There are a variety of distances available to take part in, with something for everyone! Mini heroes can take on the 500m Dash, 1 mile Youth Run for older children and the Super 5km and Heroic 10Km too!

Superhero Felix

Felix was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer at age 4.  In his battle to beat cancer, Felix experienced more physical hardship at ages four, five and six than any human being should ever have to endure. He did this each and every day with an amazing amount of love and grace. Felix represented what a true superhero is- his incredible kindness and spirit, his immense love of life-no matter what it may throw at you, and his amazing ability to live fully and presently in each moment. His life force, along with his identical twin brother Elliot and big sister Grace inspired us all to get the very most out of every day that we are given.

After a two and a half year battle, beautiful Felix, aged 6 and 3/4, used his superhero powers to lift him to the sky on August 23, 2011.

Team Felix is running to raise money for Solving Kids Cancer; a charity that helps families struck by Neuroblastoma.

Colleen, Felix’s mum says: “Solving Kids’ Cancer is a charity that really came to our rescue. Imagine being told your child has a disease which has no cure? As a parent, the desperation to find leading edge clinical trials or even hopeful leads becomes your sole focus. Solving Kids Cancer became our enabler, providing access to the leading edge care and options we needed for Felix. The charity funded Felix’s antibody treatment in Germany and brought us to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia when he relapsed, a place full of hope and clinical trial options. The importance of leaving no stone unturned is immeasurable-even when things don’t turn out as you had hoped and prayed. We want to ensure that the next child battling this horrendous disease gets the access to treatment that they need and deserve treatment. That chance of life, of hope. Please help us raise money for them.”
